ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS has urged Charlie Adam to show some humility by saying sorry to Gareth Bale.
Liverpool hardman Adam has still not apologised for his X-rated lunge on Spurs ace Bale in Saturday’s friendly in Baltimore.
Spurs boss AVB confirmed SunSport’s exclusive on Sunday that his club are considering taking the matter further by reporting the incident to the FA. He said: “We are discussing it within the club.
“In my opinion, it would be extremely human for Charlie to come out with an apology. But you can’t force people to say anything and we will have to wait and see what happens.”
Furious Bale insisted after the game he would not accept any apology from Adam.
He also branded the Scot a “coward” and claimed he deliberately set out to injure him — like he did in a match between Spurs and Blackpool in 2011.
Bale, 23, was restricted to light training ahead following Tottenham’s arrival in New York yesterday.
He was then taken to a nearby medical centre for a scan on his injured left ankle.
If it shows there is no serious damage, Bale could play some part in the friendly at New York Red Bulls tonight — although he is unlikely to start.
